This blog is basically just a collection of my "random thoughts". I must warn you, though. I have been told that "I write like I talk", so if you don't understand what you are reading... chances are, if you met me... I wouldn't make much sense to you! Feel free to comment if you care to. Or not. I'm good either way!

A to Z Blog Challenge - G

I'm starting early today! (Be sure to read about "F". I posted it late yesterday!)

Letter G

God

I believe in God. I do not question whether He exists. I know He does. I am a true believer. He is the Beginning and the End. The Alpha and the Omega. The One who created the world that we live in. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-present, and all-loving. I look foward to meeting God... face to face... when my journey, here on earth, ends.

Georgia

It is the great state where I live, here in the United States. As you know... I have lived in Georgia my whole life. I know no different. When I was little, I used to dream of moving to Texas. I have no idea "why", tho! Texas and Pennsylvania (for whatever reason!) were my two favorite states. As it turned out... I ended up marrying the man of my dreams who just happens to be from... Pennsylvania! **Smile** I guess that's why I had Pennsylvania on my mind! --- I'm still not sure why Texas was! --- Yet!

Gallbladder

Just this past September... I had to have mine removed! Last July, I started having terrible pains in my upper abdomen and it took over a month of tests to figure out that my gallbladder was the cause of the pain. It was only functioning at 11%. Yikes! I had to have it removed before it ruptured. Luckily, the doctors were able to do it lyproscopically and I was able to go home that same day. The surgery went fine, but the anhestesia made me terrribly sick!! THAT was NOT fun!

Goat

When I was little, I wanted a goat. I thought that they were so cute!! I wanted to name mine "Mildred". I have NO IDEA where I got that name from! LOL! I never got my goat. Well.......Wait a minute! I take that back! I have one now!! His name is Chester!!! **Smile**

Grandparent

I know that it is quite a few years off (at least I hope it is!)... but, I look foward to becoming a grandparent! David and I talk about it all the time, which I find kind of funny! Heehee! He is so cute when he talks about it! We want to take our grandchildren to places like Disney and also take them camping. We want to buy them things just for no reason! I want to be like my grandmother and sneak a dollar in their hand as they leave my house to go home. I want to do crafts with them and bake cookies. I can't wait to tell them stories about their Mommies when they were little! I have friends that are grandparents and from what I gather.... being a grandparent is THE best thing EVER! It will be a blast, I'm sure! I just wonder "where" my girls will end up living and where David & I will be. I think the hardest part of being a grandparent will be.... if my kids live far away. That will be tough!

A to Z Blog Challenge ~ E

The word for today is EVIL. As in anesthesia is EVIL! I just had my gall bladder removed on Friday - 9/3/10, and it was also the first time that I have ever been put to sleep by anesthesia. I was a little nervous about this to begin with because I didn't know how my body would react to it.

Well..... I guess it could have been a lot worse... but, my reaction to it was NOT fun!! I pretty much had 24 hours of dizziness, headache and nausea.

Those of you that have been "put under" before are probably laughing at me, but I don't care! For me... this was NOT a fun experience and one that I don't want to go thru again anytime soon!

I do have to say that it DID work, because once they put that mask on me in the operating room.... I didn't feel a thing until they woke me up in the recovery room! ~ Amazing! ~ For THAT I am grateful!!

Gall Bladder Update

For those of you that are following my gall bladder story.... I have an update -- FINALLY!

Last Wednesday (Aug 18), I had received a phone call from the nurse at my family physician's office telling me that I had a MALFUNCTIONING GALL BLADDER and that she was going to schedule an appointment for me with "the" surgeon. -- That word "THE" kinda' freaked me out, just a little! You can read this blog entry HERE, if you wish to.

I have been not-so-patiently waiting on this nurse to call me with the information regarding my appointment time with the surgeon. She didn't call on Thursday and she didn't call on Friday, even after I called and left a message for them to please call me. So... therefore, I had to wait all weekend before I could find out anything. Thankfully, I had a lot going on that kept my mind off my gall bladder worries! -- SEE PREVIOUS POST

This morning, at 9:00, on-the-dot, I called my doctor's office. I explained my situation to the nice lady that answered and she was unbelievably UNDERSTANDING and AGREED with me that the nurses should have called me back. I thanked her UP and DOWN for understanding what I had been through! She said that she would PERSONALLY deliver my message to the nurses and said that if I did not receive a phone call by 2:00, to call back again and ask for the OFFICE MANAGER. I thanked her again and ...... waited.

Within an hour, a nurse called me back. YAY!!! FINALLY!!! After hearing me complain about not receiving a phone call and also them not returning my phone call.... I got the information that I needed.

I now have an appointment with "THE" surgeon on Wednesday.

Now... the waiting continues, until I talk to him. But... at least after 23 DAYS... I am finally getting closer to knowing what is to become of my gall bladder.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

The waiting is over... but, then again... it's not.

Well.... I got the long-awaited phone call. (See previous post)

I DO have a "malfunctioning gall bladder"!! ~ YIKES!

The nurse that called also said that she was going to call the surgeon and schedule an appointment for me. ~~ Double YIKES!!!

I have LOTS of questions for "Mr. Surgeon" before he does any cutting on me!! But.... first... I'll have to do more WAITING AGAIN before I can talk to him --- assuming that he is a "him".

Continued prayers, would still be appreciated.

Prayers would be appreciated

Please forgive me for not being the most interesting blogger to follow lately. I have not felt well since Friday. Every time I eat a meal, my food feels like it is STUCK, right below my rib cage! It is a VERY uncomfortable miserable feeling. My doctor is trying to figure out if it is my Gall Bladder. I had blood drawn on Monday to check my liver and my blood counts. They all came back fine, yesterday. So... right now, she is treating me for "Reflux". She took me off of all foods that contain FAT, because of the possiblity of the problem being my Gall Bladder. --- Do you realize how MANY foods that is??? -- A LOT!!

And if my problem IS Reflux, then... to avoid having problems, I basically have to avoid every food that I love!! ---- Chocolate, red sauces, spicy foods, garlic, onions, mints, alcohol, caffiene, citrus fruits, and even Ibprofren & asprin! --  What will I take when I have a headache?? UGH!!

Today, I have an appointment at the hospital for an ultrasound. Part of me WANTS them to find something, just so I know that there is really something wrong! But, of course.... part of me doesn't want them to find something, because it could be serious and that is scary. I won't know anything today. It will probably take a couple of days.

Of course, I can't eat or drink anything this morning before having the ultrasound, so I am STARVING and REALLY THIRSTY!!!

Please, please.... pray for me this morning and throughout this week, as I deal with the "unknown" and as I deal with trying to find out what IS going on inside my body. I would really appreciate it. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer! I know that it works!
