This blog is basically just a collection of my "random thoughts". I must warn you, though. I have been told that "I write like I talk", so if you don't understand what you are reading... chances are, if you met me... I wouldn't make much sense to you! Feel free to comment if you care to. Or not. I'm good either way!

My Bug is Back!

Forgive me for not posting like I should, but my little bug friend is back!! --- Well, according to the doc... it's a new bug that's moved in! This bug is not quite as nasty as the last one, thankfully. I did take drastic measures yesterday and went to the doctor for defense!

My doc could tell that this bug was constricting my breathing, so she set me up with several prescriptions of meds --- Albuterol (inhaler), Prednisone (Steroid), & a strong cough syrup. Both the Albuterol & the Prednisone have side effects!! YIKES! Luckily, I am only going to be on both for a short time.

The yellow one is the one that I have.

Last evening, I experienced a horrible side effect of the Albuterol!! My heart started racing and my whole insides were shaking!!! It was a bit scary! I got out my paperwork from my meds and started reading. --- Yep. There it was! I was definitely experiencing a side effect. I did NOT like the feeling at all!! So, I got on Facebook and asked my FB friends (and family) if anyone else had experienced this while taking this medication. I got quite a few responses and ALL said that it was normal and not to worry. WHEW!!!

I have not taken any of my meds this morning. I'm a little nervous about taking it again, but I also know that I need to in order to knock this bug out!

I DO have another idea for a blog post. I will try and work on that this afternoon. Hope you all have a wonderful day! I am just praying that I survive these meds today!!

The Bug & The Valentines

I bet your wondering what the two have to do with one another, huh??

The BUG is what I have had for the past week or more! You know... the one that make you feel really crummy! Yep. That's the one. In my mind he looks something like this...

And makes me feel like this...

Pitiful, huh?? But kinda' cute! **Smile**

I haven't felt like writing or even reading blog posts. --- A HUGE sign that I reallllly don't feel well! I just haven't had the energy. I think I am starting to improve. I started with a cold and then now I think it's more of a sinus infection. Blech! ... I know!

I can almost guarantee where I got this BUG! I am a preschool teacher and well.... I wipe noses all day! I won't go into the graphic details. I will spare you of those. But, I am pretty darn sure that this is where that nasty bug came from!

I stayed home Tuesday from work to take meds and rest. I went back yesterday and then worked today. I am happy to not have to work tomorrow! (I only work Tue/Wed/Thurs) This will hopefully give me a chance to get rid of this nasty BUG!

Ok. Now you are wondering what the Valentines part of this post, is. Well, being that I don't work tomorrow or Monday, we had our class Valentine's party today! Sounds like fun, huh?? Well, picture this and tell me if it sounds like fun...

Twelve kids (7 boys & 5 girls) -- Two teachers (one who felt like POO! -- Me!) -- Cupcakes and sugary cookies with LOTS of icing! -- Red, heart bags made from construction paper with handles that were constantly ripping! -- Valentine cards & candy being given out in turn (which took forever!) -- Parents wanting to take pictures during all the chaos -- Impatient kids wanting to eat the candy as soon as it is put in thier bags -- Kids whining because their handles ripped -- And... plenty of noses still needing to be wiped!

It was quite a day!

Remember when giving a Valentine was just giving a simple little card, like this??

Things have changed quite a bit! Now, instead of just a cute little card... kids (well... parents) are giving out full-blown "Goodie Bags" filled with candy and toys! It's quite different from when I was growing up.

All in all, I guess I can't complain too much. I lucked out and got lots of "Goodie Bags", too! **Smile** Chocolate makes me feel better ANY day of the week!

Prayers would be appreciated

Please forgive me for not being the most interesting blogger to follow lately. I have not felt well since Friday. Every time I eat a meal, my food feels like it is STUCK, right below my rib cage! It is a VERY uncomfortable miserable feeling. My doctor is trying to figure out if it is my Gall Bladder. I had blood drawn on Monday to check my liver and my blood counts. They all came back fine, yesterday. So... right now, she is treating me for "Reflux". She took me off of all foods that contain FAT, because of the possiblity of the problem being my Gall Bladder. --- Do you realize how MANY foods that is??? -- A LOT!!

And if my problem IS Reflux, then... to avoid having problems, I basically have to avoid every food that I love!! ---- Chocolate, red sauces, spicy foods, garlic, onions, mints, alcohol, caffiene, citrus fruits, and even Ibprofren & asprin! --  What will I take when I have a headache?? UGH!!

Today, I have an appointment at the hospital for an ultrasound. Part of me WANTS them to find something, just so I know that there is really something wrong! But, of course.... part of me doesn't want them to find something, because it could be serious and that is scary. I won't know anything today. It will probably take a couple of days.

Of course, I can't eat or drink anything this morning before having the ultrasound, so I am STARVING and REALLY THIRSTY!!!

Please, please.... pray for me this morning and throughout this week, as I deal with the "unknown" and as I deal with trying to find out what IS going on inside my body. I would really appreciate it. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer! I know that it works!

25 Years Ago, Today.....

I was sick as a dog on the day before my wedding! Yes... on April 18, 1985.... instead of having fun and enjoying my last day of "singleness", I was in the bed with the FLU! Luckily, I was on the tail-end of my sickness, and not the beginning of it.
I don't remember much about this day, other than my mom asking me.... "Are you sure you don't want to post-pone the wedding?". Me.... "No!!! I'll be fine!" I had a high fever and could hardly move because my body felt like it had been hit by a freight train, but I was NOT missing my wedding!!
Even tho it was not a big fancy wedding, a lot had still gone into it and I didn't want to let anyone down. PLUS.... Hubby's mom and grandmother had flown down from Pennsylvania to be there. My aunt & uncle had driven up from Florida, and others had gone out of there way to make sure that they could be there.
I had really wanted to get married on April 18th because 18 is my favorite number, but... it turned out that April 18th, was a Thursday and that wouldn't work. So, I had to settle for .... Friday, April 19th.
I guess it's a good thing that we didn't get married on the 18th, because I was so sick. As it was, I STILL had to crawl out of the bed to go to my wedding! I held up well, tho.... considering.

You've probably already figured out what tomorrow's blog will be about!   **SMILE**
