Monday's Memories

Today, I am focusing on memories from my teen years!

At Six Flags Over Georgia... there used to be a ride there called "The Okefenokee Swamp" ...  (or something like that!). It was a boat ride through the "swamp". It was dark in there and it was the perfect place to go with your boyfriend (or girlfriend!) and have a little "alone time" together!!  ---- Yes.... I spent a little time in there as a teen! **Smile**



I'm pretty sure that these were what I used to learn to shave with and I used them throughout my teen years!! Hahaha



ZIGGY was the best!!! Loved his heart-warming little cartoons!




I LOVED my "Candies" shoes!!!!! I felt very "sexy" as a teen, when I wore them! (I'm not so sure what my parents thought of me wearing them, tho!)




"Kissing Potion" was the favorite lip gloss of teen girls!! I never went anywhere without mine!!! -- I wonder what the boys thought of it, tho!! LOL!!

Wednesday's Wonderful Words

So true!! Worry can take over your life, if you let it.

Yes it is!!! Time to put the past in the past and start fresh!!! 

I love this one!!! I am guilty of trying to always please others and not myself. 

This one makes me feel good. If I am disappointed... I shouldn't worry. I just need to be patient because God has something better planned! 

Pinterest

Those of you that are familiar with the website.... PINTEREST... will know what I am talking about when I say how FUN it is!! I am not sure how to explain it other than .... if you've ever cut out magazine pictures or articles  in order save them for future reference, then you will understand Pinterest! I have the most fun just scrolling thru the THOUSANDS of articles and pictures that are posted!! Of course, I "pin" a lot of them to my own board, too! **smile**

One of my favorite things to "pin" are things that remind me of my childhood. It is so fun to see things that bring back memories that I had completely forgotten!! I was born in 1964... so my childhood memories are of the late 60's and early 70's. I also enjoy seeing things that remind me of my teen years.... the late 70's and early 80's.

I think I am going to post some of these on Monday's and call the posts.... "Monday Memories". I know that today is Tuesday... but, let's pretend that it's Monday ... WAIT!! Scratch that thought! Who likes Monday's???.. LOL!!  We'll just do a Monday post on a Tuesday! **smile**

The little flowered suitcase ---- I had a green one. I used it when I would go to spend the night at a friends house or when we traveled to Columbus from Atlanta to visit my grandparents.



Doggie Pull Toy --- I'm not sure if "I" had one of these or not, but I remember a kid that lived near me having one and I remember one time when he was pulling it and the dog was UPSIDE DOWN, scraping across the sidewalk!!!! I got so upset with him!! .... You see... for as long as I can remember... anything that had a face on it.... had FEELINGS!! So, in my mind... this little doggie was being tortured by this kid!!!



Photo Block --- These were pretty cool! Each side of the plastic block, had a slit where you could slide a photograph into it. I had pictures of my family and friends on my block.

The Purge Project - Day 1

WOW!!!! Two posts in a row!!! Aren't you shocked!!! ~ LOL!!

I am on a quest to get my house DE-CLUTTERED!!! And I decided that I might as well blog about it as I go. You probably will not see a post every day on my "Purge Project", because I am not committing to it being an every day "thing". But, I do promise hope to post frequently, at least!! My plan is to take "before" and "after" shots so that I can prove to myself that I CAN do this!! I look forward to the accomplishing "feeling" that I will have when I accomplish each purging task! 

Purge #1 --- My Purse!

This is my AQUA BLUE purse!!! I got it at a used clothing store called -- Plato's Closet. It called screamed out my name and said.... "BUY ME!!!" And of course.... I did!! It was a bargain at only $14.00!! I also purchased the coat behind it (in yellow) for only $20.00!! I love them both!! 

Here's the inside of my messy purse. It actually wasn't that bad.... but, it needed to be done!

Here's my finished result! ~ Doesn't look a whole lot different... but it is! 

Purge #2 --- My Sunday School Bag

Since I teach lead the College & Career Sunday School Class at my church, I am always toting a bag with me on Sunday. It was in desperate need of cleaning out, as well! Here's a picture of the bag that I have been using for YEARS as my "church bag". I bought it YEARS ago, when I worked in a Hallmark store. 

LOTS of old church bulletins and papers were overflowing in my bag!

I decided to switch "church bags" and use this one for awhile. I still like my Noah's Ark bag, so it will not be "purged". It will go into my closet along with my many other bags! Haha! -- Yes. My closet is on my list of things to be purged! 

Aahhhhh..... a MUCH more organized "church bag"! 

Purge #3 --- My desk!! (I'm on a roll, aren't I!)

Whew!!! Look at that mess!!!! Just for fun... let's see if we can play the game "Hidden Objects"! See if you can find the following..... A mini jar of strawberry jam ~ An AVON book ~ A pair of reading glasses ~ A bottle of "White Out" ~ A striped lunch bag ~ 3 blue sticky notes.

Whew!! That's better!! I can actually SEE the top of my desk!! Haha! 

In my last post, I shared with you some of the MANY things that I own that are AQUA BLUE. As I was cleaning off my desk... I took a few photos of some of my aqua blue things.

I'm Obsessed!

Yes. I have an obsession.

I am obsessed with the color Aqua Blue!! 

For as long as I can remember, I have loved the color "blue". But, I have also always been especially attracted to "aqua blue"... or the Crayola crayon color called .... CERULEAN. I have no idea how to pronounce it!! But, I like it VERY MUCH!!

Aqua Blue may also be considered ---- Aquamarine or Turquoise.


I am INSTANTLY attracted to anything that is this color ----



or any color that is close to this one!

Wednesday's Wonderful Words

Good Morning!!!!

I wish I could say that it was for me, but I have been sick for 5 days now and I'm REALLLLY getting "sick" of being sick!! Hopefully, I am on the tail end of it, tho.

Here are some Wonderful Words for your Wednesday! ~ Enjoy!





I like to smile and I like it when other people smile. Sadly, there are people in the world who never seem to smile. This makes me sad.


I also like to laugh!! It feels so good to have a big ol' BELLY LAUGH!! Those don't happen every day, but if I can at least laugh a little each day... it makes everything better! ~ I love, love, love to hear a child have a big BELLY LAUGH!! it's precious!! And then, I laugh!




I am learning this lesson. Be MYSELF!! And if others do not like the real me.... well..... TOUGH!




I TRY to have a positive attitude about everything. Negative people bring me down, tho.




This one is my favorite!!!! I love the motto.... "Live for Today"! I have always said..... "Live your life like there will be no tomorrow." Don't worry about the past OR the future! Live in the present! Some people have a hard time with this.

Lessons Learned From a 22 Year Old Missionary

Just last week, we had a HUGE event at our church that was called Global Impact Celebration. We had missionaries from all over the WORLD come and visit our church. Each of them stayed in homes of our church members. My family hosted a young lady who is a missionary in Miami, Florida. She is a US-2 Missionary working with Project HEAL.

This is a list of things that I learned from Rachel, "our" missionary that stayed with us.

~ It's ok to be "different".
~ It's ok if your purse does not match the rest of your outfit.
~ Always have a BIG cup of water with you wherever you go and DRINK from it all day!! 
~ It does not matter if your hair is perfect.
~ Be happy in all circumstances.
~ Be able to adapt well to your surroundings wherever you go.
~ Never meet a stranger.
~ Have fun and enjoy life!
~ Tattoos aren't so bad if they have meaning and are simple.
~ Don't judge someone based on their looks.
~ Love yourself.

Hello!!

Yes. It's been a while.... again!!!

Sorry about that!

You'll be happy to know that I have been making a list of topics to write about.... I just haven't taken the time to actually WRITE!!!! **Smile**

This one ---- "Facebook Pages" ---- is actually one that was NOT on my list. I just now decided that I wanted to write about it.

I have just recently -- within the past two weeks or so -- found some Facebook pages that I have "liked". They are inspirational and uplifting. They have pictures and quotes that I constantly want to "share" on my own page, but if I shared each one that I liked... then, I would overload my Facebook friends and they would "unfriend" me!! -- If you are familiar Facebook.... then, you know what I am talking about! LOL! --And I DON'T want that to happen!
