This blog is basically just a collection of my "random thoughts". I must warn you, though. I have been told that "I write like I talk", so if you don't understand what you are reading... chances are, if you met me... I wouldn't make much sense to you! Feel free to comment if you care to. Or not. I'm good either way!

August Tablescape

Yes!! I know that I am a bit late. I was hoping to add to this tablescape, but never got around to it! Oops!! Soo... here is what my table has looked like for the whole month of August. Forgive me for the pictures not looking so good. I was in a hurry this morning! The lighting is bad. I know. I am linking to Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. (Yes. I am late for it, too!!)

I picked up most of these items at a thrift store in Columbus, GA called... "Joey's". The coral dishes, the tablecloth, the heart dishes, and the little green sherbert bowls were all bought on the same day. The crystal plates and green glasses were/are my mother's. The candlesticks were bought at Joey's too. I never did get any candles for them! Oops!

I stole borrowed this pretty flower from Ashley's room. It matched my color scheme perfectly!!

Couldn't resist these cute little dishes! Too bad they only had four.

But.... there were only 4 of these coral colored plates, anyway. So, it worked out.

I fell in LOVE with these little green sherbert bowls!!!! They came in a set of 6. So pretty!!

I picked up this "tablecloth" in a booth for only a $1.
I was having fun finding dishes to go with it!

Hmmm...... who is that over there stealing the spotlight from my picture??
That's Chester, my crazy 1 year old puppy!! **Smile**

Independence Day Tablescape

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!

Please allow me to share my tablescape with you!

Don't you just love this patriotic bird house?
I can not remember where I bought it. I have had it for several years and love it!

The red, white & blue plates are some that I have used in other tablescapes. I found these cute little blue "star" buckets at Goodwill.

The little tea-light's are from my "beachy" tablescape from June. I found the star candles at Hobby Lobby for under $3, along with the star garland.

In the background, you can see a cute little wagon. I "think" I bought that when I bough the birdhouse. I've had the baskets for quite a while, too.

I am really enjoying creating a new "look" for my table at the beginning of each month!

A "Beachy" Tablescape

I love the "Beachy" look! I would love, love, love, to have a house... or even a condo!... at the beach! Of course, I would love for it to be right ON the beach! But, I would settle for one that was merely near the beach, as well! **Smile**

I would have SO MUCH FUN decorating it!

I knew that for my June tablescape, I wanted to do a BEACH THEMED one.

Here is what I came up with! -- Once again... please excuse my photography skills!

Don't you love this turquoise beaded bowl thingy to the left?? I am not quite sure where I got it. I have had it for a while. I know that I did not pay a lot for it. Maybe $3.00? I am extremely attracted to all glassware in this color!

I bought the little tealight candles at the dollar store back in February when I was searching for valentine things. I bought two sets of 3 for $1.00 each!

Do you see the seashell salt & pepper shakers?? Those are part of David's grandmother's collection that I have stored up in my attic! I have boxes and boxes of salt & pepper shakers! I guess you would say that these were "vintage".

These light blue placemats are the same ones that I used for my "winter theme" back in January. I picked them up at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $1.00 each on the clearance shelf!

The white plates are the same ones that I bought last fall at the dollar store! I use them all the time!

I found these blue-striped napkins on a recent "thrifting" outing that I had last Saturday. They were only $1.00 for a set of 6!

The white knobby bowls are the same ones that I bought back in February. I think I paid $2.00 each for 6 of them at Michael's.

I found these beautiful blue bowls while out "thrifting" on Saturday. I LOVE the colors! There are only 4, but they were only $1.00 each!

I was excited to find these fun mini-chargers while out "thrifting"! I had to have them for my "beach theme"! They were only $4.00 for a set of 6!

I picked up this cute little fishy at Hobby Lobby. He was only $4.00, but I paid less because he was 40% off!

I found this pink flamingo at Hobby Lobby, too! He was only $6.00 with 40% off!

Don't you love these candlesticks??!! I found these at the thrift store for only $3.00 each!! I just HAD to have them!! I bought the candles at Hobby Lobby. They were $6.00 each, but were on sale for 60% off!

These cute little fishies are another set of salt & pepper shakers from David's grandmother's collection! They are so precious! They make me smile every time I look at them! I would say that these were "vintage", as well.

The aqua colored votive candle in the foreground is another dollar store find!

This display is on my hutch, which is right next to my table.

The little green fishies on the left are more salt & pepper shakers! Too cute!

The shells in the big vase are just part of the collection of shells that the girls and I found while we were at St. Joseph's Peninsula State Park in Florida last September! I have been waiting to use them as part of my "beachy" decor!

I found this adorable flip-flop dish while out "thrifting"! I love the colors! It was only $3.00.

Hope you like my "thrifty" finds!

Easter Tablescape

I FINALLY got my Easter tablescape put together. I ended up just using what I had instead of buying "new". I had wanted to find some cute little easter plates to go with my setting, but just never got out there to shop for any... plus... I really haven't had the money this month. I also wanted to find a pretty new table cloth, but didn't get that either.

Anyway..... Here's what I came up with! (Forgive my not-so-good photography!)

This is my bunny display on my hutch.

The "juggling bunny" opens so that you can put secret candy in it!

This is that beautiful bowl that I found back in February for a cheap $5.00. I had wanted to get a pretty ribbon to go thru the holes of this bowl, but never did. It's still very pretty, tho.

The egg in the back with the chick inside was made by Miranda, when she was little. I love it!

Ok... here's my tablescape!

I used the same placemats that I used for my St. Patrick's Day tablescape. I thought they would work well for Easter, too! The white plates are the ones that I use all of the time. They were a $1.00 store find back in the fall. I love them! The pastel colored plates are some that I bought years ago for the summer. They are from Target and were on clearance. The white bowls are the ones that I bought back in February, as well. We use these for ice cream! **Smile** The napkins are paper, but pretty! The eggs in the bowls are wooden and I have had them for years.

These little bunnies are very special. They are from David's grandmother's collection of salt & pepper shakers that he inherited. When he was little... he always told his "Mom Mom" that he wanted her collection --- which were scattered ALL OVER her house in Philadelphia! So, after she passed away in the early 1990's, he we recieved ALL of them! Boxes and boxes of them! Haha! They are housed up in my attic. The other week, I dug them out and went through them to find some that I really liked and could use for my tablescapes. I was so excited to find these cuties!

My poor Easter Tree is looking a little sad! I probably need to search for a new one after Easter.

These tulips are another set of salt & pepper shakers from Mom Mom's collection.

This table cloth is very special to me because my mother made it. It doesn't really fit my table, but I use it anyway, for special occasions.

Neither one of my girls are claiming to have made this little guy -- haha!-- but, isn't he cute!

Happy Easter to you all!!

St. Patty's Day Tablescape

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

I said that I wasn't going to decorate for St. Patrick's Day, but..... I did. Just a little bit.

The green dishes were my grandmother's. I saw these glasses at Joey's when I was there on Monday. They didn't have the plates, tho. The white dishes (used as chargers, here) are from The Dollar Tree and I love them! I use them all the time! The white bowls are from Michael's. It's funny how Chester always seem to be a part of my tablescape photos!

I found this little friend at Jo Ann's, along with the coins. The shamrocks came from The Dollar Tree. I wanted to find a little black pot for the other side of the table and fill it full of more gold coins, but never did find one. Maybe next year!

He's so cute!

These beautiful Mum's are Miranda's. Rory gave them to her for Valentine's Day and they still look beautiful! I found this vase at Goodwill.

I'm linking into Tablescape Thursday on Between Naps on the Porch! Please join me there!
