This blog is basically just a collection of my "random thoughts". I must warn you, though. I have been told that "I write like I talk", so if you don't understand what you are reading... chances are, if you met me... I wouldn't make much sense to you! Feel free to comment if you care to. Or not. I'm good either way!

I've been hit!!

"By what?", you ask.

The dreaded Writer's Block!! That's what!

I was on a roll there for a while, but I have hit a brick wall. It's not that I don't have anything to say, I just don't want to take the time to write. I'm not sure whether that is "true" writer's block, or not.

Maybe, it's just that I'm not in the "mood" to write.

Maybe, it's because I have a million things to do before Christmas arrives and that is all that I can think about!

Maybe, I need a break and should wait until after Christmas to write.

I don't know.

I do have one topic that I want to write about, but I'm just not in the "mood". It's about Christmas (one that I promised to write about!) and will be a good post, but I just don't feel like writing. I wish I knew why I feel this way. Maybe I'll feel more like writing later.

For those of you that are faithful followers... I apologize. I will get back to writing again soon, I'm sure.

I am also WAY behind in reading the blogs that I follow!! That is something that I enjoy VERY MUCH, but it just hasn't been something that I've wanted to do lately. I guess it's because I have so many other things going on at the moment. I apologize.

Well, I am off to start my day.

Hope you are all having a good day and are enjoying this joyful time of year!

Blessings ~
Becky

Snapshot Saturday - 12/18/10 - Susan's pick!

My friend Susan over at KardKornerKrib picked this combination -- 21 - 2 - 39.

This is the photo that she "unlocked" --

Doesn't this look yummy??!! David made these for dinner one night, this past summer. They were delicious!! We got the idea while we were visiting a new food market to our area called - Fresh Market. It is a treat to the eyes and the taste buds! We spotted some of these shiskabobs in the meat department and both of us looked at each other and said... YUM! We could have bought them already put together at the store, but we went home and concocted our own! **Smile**

Thanks for playing along, Susan!!

Snapshot Saturday - 12/18/10 - Thisisme's pick!

My friend over at Southhamsdarling picked this combination --- 2 - 3 - 4.

Here is the photo that she unlocked!

This is Chester, my 9 month old Golden Retriever. This is his favorite place to sleep --- our leather recliner! Every morning, after he & Jackson (our 8 year old Golden) have eaten their breakfast and gone outside to... well... you-know-what! .... I'll let them back in and while I am in my office, drinking my coffee and "playing" on my computer.... THIS is what Chester does! I don't ever have the heart to make him move. He just looks so cute all snuggled up, sleeping! **Smile**

And here's the photo ---

Here's David with Ashley & Miranda on Father's Day, 2008. The photo was taken at a friends house. They had invited us over to swim (the pool is to the right!) and grill some burgers. The weather was beautiful and we made some great memories that day!

See the "pop-up" camper, in the background. That's the kind that we have. This is what it looks like when it is folded down.

Ashley has on one of our VBS (Vacation Bible School) shirt and Miranda is wearing one of her high school newspaper staff shirts. Great memories!

Send me a number combination and let's see what photo you "unlock"!

Fun Gifts from the Kids

Once again... my little preschool kids (by way of their parents, of course!), showered me with some wonderful gifts!

The little girl that gave me these two gifts, told her mommy that I "needed" a watch because I didn't wear one! I thought that was really cute. She was right! I DID need one! A watch was on my list of things I wanted for Christmas. This one is a "fun" watch.

A pocket calendar for the new year, is ALWAYS a wonderful gift idea, and having it personalized is even better! The "Teacher" ornament is already on my tree, and I am sure that I will be wearing this adorable Santa pin this coming Sunday at church, since the little boy that gave me this, goes to my church! Oooh!! And Godiva chocolate! YUM!!

I love this candle from the Yankee Candle company! This looks like MY church, which is also where I teach preschool!

The teacher that I teach with gave me these candle holders. The silver ones say... HO, HO, HO. I think these are going to become part of my centerpiece on my tablescape! (Look for an upcoming blog about that!)

YUM!! I can't wait to try this Pepper Jelly Cheesecake recipe!!

And look at these yummy goodies in these mugs!!! The golden reindeer is an ornament and already on my tree! I love it!

The best gift of all was this $50 gift card to Target!! I have already used it to buy the red plates that I wanted for Christmas! (You'll see them in that upcoming post that I mentioned above!) I bought some decorative napkins too, but I think I am going to exchange them for some different ones. I'm not sure what else I will buy, but I'll have fun looking for something!

Preschool Staff Christmas Party

This past Saturday night was our Christmas party for the preschool staff. It was in the beautiful home of our director, Debi. She graciously hosts it in her home every year. We are told to bring a $5.00 ornament for the ornament swap game. We call it "Dirty Santa", but I believe it is called other names as well.

Here's an idea of what the ornament that I brought looked like ---

I couldn't find a picture of the actual one that I bought, but it looked like these, only it was a glass ball, not a bucket. I loved the feathers at the top of it! I got it at Pier 1. I love their ornaments, and everything else in the store!!!

I brought along my camera to take pics at the party, but ended up only taking pics of Debi's beautiful Christmas decorations!

This is the stairwell, in the foyer, that greets you as you enter the house.

This is the dining room, to the left of the foyer. She had many yummy foods here, for us to enjoy!

Take a look at ALL of these YUMMY desserts that were scattered across her kitchen island!! This was a dessert lover's paradise!! The large gingerbread house is just a decoration, but it looked SO real!

This beautiful fireplace is in the formal living room where we all sat to enjoy our yummy foods and also to have our ornament swap.

I hate that I didn't take any pictures of any of us that were there! I get shy about taking people's pictures, because you never know how they really feel about it. Someone did take mine and David's picture in front of the Christmas tree, but it didn't turn out so well.

Our ornament swap game was a lot of fun. If you've never played "Dirty Santa", it's a fun game to play at a Christmas party! Everyone brings an ornament (or some other cheap) gift and you take turns picking a gift from under the tree (or on the table). You open your gift and show it to the rest of the participants. The next person, in turn, can either take your gift or choose another from under the tree. The game continues around the room with everyone either choosing a new gift, or stealing someone else's! Our game lasted for a while because their were two ornaments that everyone seemed to want!!

This is the ornament that I was lucky to get --

I actually stole him from someone else!! Hahaaa! I love snowmen and the green and red match the rest of my Christmas tree ornaments! I was happy that he wasn't one of the ornaments that everyone wanted!

My Last Meal Would Be...

By reading one of my favorite blogs -- Southhamsdarling -- I discovered ANOTHER blog -- TheLadyBloggers! Each Wednesday, they have a "Wednesday Writing Prompt". I thought it would be fun to play along, so here it goes!

The question is ---

“You can choose your last meal. What would the menu consist of?”

Since it is my LAST MEAL, I wouldn't have to worry about calories... so, I would want a full four-course meal!

I would start off with an appetizer. My pick would be a plate of Southwest Eggrolls from Chili's restaurant. YUM!

With that, I would have one of their Presidente Margarita.

Then, for my main meal I would choose two main courses, because I can't decide between these two!

First, I would have a yummy bacon-cheeseburer with fries!

With that, I would have a cold glass of diet coke!

Then, I would have a pepperoni & Italian sausage, with jalepeno peppers pizza from Papa John's Pizza!

I would have a nice cold beer to wash this down!

For dessert... this is a tough choice because I love so many!! But, I guess I would pick a nice warm piece of chocolate cake (or brownie) with some vanilla ice cream!! YUM!!!

I guess it's a good thing that this is my LAST MEAL!! **Smile**
